During long-term use, due to frequent gear shifts, the parts in the gearbox will inevitably undergo wear and deformation, which will cause the gearbox to be difficult to shift, automatically de-gear, and make noise during operation, which affects the use. Therefore, in daily use, it is necessary to frequently check the working conditions of the gearbox at full load operation to observe whether the gearbox transmission is smooth, whether there are abnormal gaps and noise, and find out the cause in time for adjustment or repair. Common faults are as follows:
1. Difficulty in gear
When the gear lever is operated to shift gears, it is very laborious to shift gears and cannot enter the gears smoothly; or there is a sound of teeth beating when shifting gears, and in severe cases, the gears cannot be engaged.
The reasons are as follows:
(1) The clutch is not completely separated and the power cannot be completely cut off. The specific manifestations are in two aspects: one is due to improper manipulation and the pedal is not stepped to the end, resulting in incomplete separation and difficulty in gearing. This phenomenon is common among novices. Because they are not skilled, they often engage in gear when the pedal is not fully depressed, and the gear cannot be engaged and the gears are humming; second, it is difficult to engage in gear due to poor clutch technology;
(2) The tooth ends of the individual meshing teeth of the new car are rough, causing difficulty in gear shifting;
(3) The shift fork is loose or bent, the shift fork shaft is bent, rusted, and it is difficult to move. When the locking screw of the shift fork fixing the shift fork is loose, it will also cause difficulty in gear shifting;
(4) The length of the reverse gear lever on the shift lever is improperly adjusted. When reverse gear is engaged, the lock plate cannot rise enough to enter the reverse gear position smoothly.
2. Automatically release
There are two common situations for automatic release. One is when the accelerator pedal is slightly raised during driving, the gear will jump back to the neutral position; the other is when the uphill load increases, the gear will immediately jump back to the neutral position. In this case, if you re-engage If the gear is not hooked up, it is easy to slip and cause serious accidents.
The reasons are as follows:
(1) The spring force of the shift fork is weakened or broken, causing the self-locking position to fail;
(2) The shift fork locking screw is loose, the shift fork shaft positioning groove or the steel ball of the self-locking device is worn out, and the shift lever cannot be reliably positioned;
(3) The effective stroke of the shift fork is small or the shift fork is bent and deformed, causing the gear to mesh improperly, and it is easy to disengage after being stressed;
(4) The end face of the shift fork is severely worn, and the gap between the end face of the shift fork and the ring groove of the sliding gear is too large, and the sliding gear is easy to shift back and forth and automatically get out of gear;
(5) The working surface of the gear is worn into a conical shape, which makes the gear meshing gap too large, and it is easy to generate axial thrust, causing the sliding gear to disengage;
(6) The spline between the gear and the shaft is worn, and the keyway gap is too large, causing the gear to swing during transmission, and the sliding gear is easy to disengage from the meshing position;
(7) Bearing wear, bearing looseness, bearing and shaft inner ring slippage, bearing and box housing hole outer ring slippage, too large axial clearance, all cause the gear shaft to tilt and the gear shaft to shift, causing the gear to suffer Automatically disengage after the force is applied.
3. Abnormal sound of gearbox
There are two cases of abnormal gearbox noise: one is abnormal noise when in neutral position; the other is abnormal noise when shifting gears while driving.
The reasons are as follows:
(1) The amount of gear oil is insufficient or the quality of gear oil is too poor;
(2) The gear tooth surface is severely worn, which makes the meshing gap too large;
(3) Fatigue peeling or chipping of gear teeth;
(4) The intermediate shaft and the second shaft are excessively worn, or the spline shaft and the spline in the gear are severely worn, and the clearance is too large; the shaft is bent or the lock on the shaft is loose;
(5) The bearing is loose or the cage is damaged;
(6) The non-working part of the shift fork touches and rubs;
(7) When repairing, the gears are not replaced in pairs, but new gears individually.
